Selecting the Liquefaction Unit Refrigeration Cycle and Power Source for Large and Small LNG Plants

Discussion of the design options for small 1 MTPA to large 6 MTPA LNG facilities on the US Gulf Coast focusing on the selection of the liquefaction cycle and the power source for the refrigerant compressors. The impact these choices have on installed cost, annual production availability, reliability, ease of operation, operating efficiency, and carbon footprint will be examined.
